Policy Task Force

March 2026 Updates

At the February Communications Task Force meeting, Leslie Levine shared an overview and status update on the proposed Sweetened Beverage Fee ordinance. A recording of the presentation is now available for anyone who was unable to attend.

The Coalition’s 2025–2027 Strategic Plan prioritizes securing sustainable funding for food security programs while expanding access to healthy foods and beverages within the emergency food system as a strategy to decrease chronic disease rates. As the Sweetened Beverage Fee ordinances advance through the formal ordinance processes in Littleton, Englewood, and Sheridan, community advocacy will be essential. Engagement from residents, community-based organization staff, board members, volunteers, and clients will help move these policies forward.

To equip community members with the tools and confidence to participate effectively, advocacy trainings will be offered this summer.
